The New York Times just built in it’s ‘Global Edition’ to it’s normal ‘nytimes.com’.
With newspapers and magazines at a low point, this is a great strategic shift (that probably should have happened a while ago) towards integrating with other news sources to build out a more robust site that will attract more users.

As a designer, production costs when printing are a huge issue….That is until now. With Blurb, Lulu and others for book publishing, now anyone with a concept can make it a reality. The NY Times Write a great piece on this….
“PALO ALTO, Calif. — For anyone who has dreamed of creating his own glossy color magazine dedicated to a hobby like photography or travel, the high cost and hassle of printing has loomed as a big barrier. Traditional printing companies charge thousands of dollars upfront to fire up a press and produce a few hundred copies of a bound magazine.”

Great Paul Smith (soccer)football. Love his colored stripes.
“The english designer Paul Smith has released this football in their signature multistripe pattern which to date has been featured on everything from shirts to Mini Cooper’s. The football is made of a specially treated printed leather, but it is recommended that the ball be used indoors only. The Paul Smith multistripe football is available exclusively in Paul Smith stores worldwide.”
A great selection of imagery of signage at the Berlin Museum of Letters.
