May 6, 2009

The New York Dolls, the legendary postpunk band formed in 1971 in New York City played their record release show tonight at the former CBGB venue, now the John Varvatos store on the Bowery. The album is named ‘Cause I Sez So’, and is for sale now. The performance was broadcasted live on Sirius radio, and the free Pabst and Belvedere IX, with branding by graffiti artists AndrĂ©, put us all in a better rock mood. David Johansen, despite his age still killed it in this former New York birthplace of rock. Some images below.
