Artist Assassinates World Leader’s at São Paulo Biennial

September 26, 2010

Brazilian artist Gil Vicente dreams of assassinating world leaders. He’s done just that in his series of new drawings titled “Enemies”, exhibited at the São Paulo Biennial in nine charcoal self portraits. This work has caused major scandal in São Paulo, with many demanding they be removed. Doesn’t look like that’s happening.

The “victims” include the pope, Queen Elizabeth II, former Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon, former UN secretary general Kofi Annan, George Bush, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad amongst others.

I think the one of the Queen is our favorite. Vicente you animal, why would you want to shoot a little old lady!
