Efterklang presents An Island a film by Vincent Moon

March 29, 2011

Our friends are having a screening tonight at Cameo Gallery on Brooklyn.

Vincent Moon and Efterklang are proud to announce their film AN ISLAND. This is the 3rd teaser of the film.

August 2010, French filmmaker Vincent Moon and Efterklang’s 8 piece-live band met up on an island in the Danish country side. The objective was to shoot a film. A film with the same length as an album, and a film full of performances, experiments and collaborations.

Over an intense period of 4 days Efterklang collaborated with more than 200 local musicians, kids and their own parents, creating new performances and interpretations of songs from their Magic Chairs album. It was all filmed by Vincent Moon who same time conducted several filmic and musical experiments with Efterklang as his dedicated play mates.

Please visit ANISLAND.cc for more info including info about how to host your own screening of An Island.

The song you see Efterklang performing in this 3rd teaser is Alike from their 3rd album Magic Chairs.

Babes At The Museum returns with a screening of French director Vincent Moon and Danish indie band Efterkang’s “An Island” at Cameo Gallery (93 N. 6th st) on Tues March 29th.

Doors at 8pm. Screening begins at 9pm. Pay what you want $

Seating is limited so get there early. The film will be projected onto a 12-foot screen and alongside a full bar for all your quenches.

A $5 suggestion will put you in the running a limited edition test pressing of Efterklang’s “Magic Chairs” album provided by the good folks at 4AD (Ariel Pink, Deerhunter, The National, Twin Shadow). Pretty cool stuff!
