Tom Sachs: WORK Opening

November 5, 2011
by

Yesterday evening was the opening of Tom Sachs‘ new show at Sperone Westwater on the Bowery. Sachs packed 3 floors and an outdoor balcony of the gallery with pieces ranging from cinder blocks and car batteries to some of the large works of the ground floor. One of our favorite pieces was Cinderblock, also the main image featured on the invitation, but in person is great to see up close.

This exhibition precedes Sachs’ major interactive exhibition, ASTRONAUTS TRAINING MANUAL; SPACE PROGRAM 2.0: MARS, co-presented by Creative Time and Park Avenue Armory, and on view at Park Avenue Armory in New York from May – June 2012.

Below are a bunch of shots from the star-studded opening, and a few of our favorite pieces. The show runs until December so you have some time to go check out the work.
